Welcome at the Working Group Fuel Cells
VDMA Fuel Cells strives to successfully establish fuel cell technologies in Germany and to position them on markets worldwide. To this end, the working group represents the political interests of the industry in Germany and, increasingly, abroad.
Along the entire value chain, VDMA Fuel Cells offers manufacturers, suppliers and developers a platform that enables them to bundle interests, remove market barriers, introduce technology and exchange information. In order to successfully expand the industrial network, technical solutions for the optimization and cost reduction of fuel cell systems and components as well as the development of series production are developed in project groups.
At the invitation of the member company Proton Motor Fuel Cells, the general meeting took place in Puchheim near Munich despite stormy weather. The industry is currently feeling the tailwind and is on the verge of making the transition from one-off production to industrially automated production of fuel cell stacks.
The market ramp-up of fuel cell production presents the fuel cell industry with new challenges. It requires close and trusting cooperation between all those involved in the value chain. In order to contribute to this, the VDMA Fuel Cell Working Group is planning a series of workshops on the topics of quality assurance, production automation and system integration (Balance-of-Plant). It started with an event on the quality assurance of repeat parts of membrane fuel cells at the ZBT in Duisburg.
